Overview:
An 
Engineering Manager – Integration is a senior-level role that involves overseeing the integration strategy and architecture of an entire organization or a large-scale project. They are involved in defining the vision, goals, principles, and governance of integration, as well as evaluating and selecting the appropriate integration technologies, tools, and methodologies. They also collaborate with other architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that the integration solutions are aligned with the business needs, the enterprise architecture, and the IT infrastructure. A successful integration architect needs to have extensive experience and knowledge in integration design patterns, architectures, frameworks, and standards, such as service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, enterprise service bus (ESB), application programming interfaces (APIs), and messaging systems. You also need to have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a broad understanding of various domains, such as business, data, security, and cloud.


Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the development of new principles and theories.
  • Ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance with customer.
  • Coordinate the support for software patching and compliance on end user devices.
  • Evaluate existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement information system changes.
  • Coordinate designs of subsystems and integration of total system.
  • Collaborate to deliver architectural coherence and support performance, safety, modularity, redundancy, quality tradeoff analysis of the autonomy system.
  • Perform multiple roles as needed during the course of the project.
  • Coordinate the prioritization of engineering analysis to mitigate technical and program risks.
  • Establishes and implements the integration framework strategy, short to mid term (1-3 years).
  • Integration framework initiative will have impact on the business on an international scale
  • This individual is recognized as an external thought leader within strategic function or discipline.
  • Provide technical program management as a integration development lead.
  • Lead a team to technical consensus on major decisions
  • Accountable for the results of a large and/or moderately complex integration project(s).  Provides input on resource planning and policy development.
  • Responsible for the write up of the technical portion of proposals for integration related projects
  • Perform code reviews to ensure implementation aligns with architecture and integration best practices

  • Manages operational plans, large projects, and processes with limited oversight from manager. 
  • Leads and participates, with comparable influence to manager, in large projects and initiatives.
  • Provides leadership to solution architects and their team (5+). 
  • Mentor and work with domain-related architects, developers, and testers throughout projects, contributing to short to mid term (1-3 years) talent optimization.
  • Support and guide integration architecture governance team and practices in accordance with business and IT strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 - 10 years of position related experience, or equivalent combo of education and experience level.  Has in-depth knowledge in integration architecture and systems and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
  • 5+ years experience with cloud software and systems.
  • 4+ years leadership and problem-solving experience, demonstrating a collaborative and critical thinking mindset.
  • 4+ years experience with enterprise resource planning and restful web services, preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a consulting capacity, preferred.
  • Experience with APIs, Agile, JAVA, Linux, HTML, Javascript, SQL, and SOA software and systems.
  • Experience with cloud software and systems.
  • Demonstrable capability with system architecture, business process analysis, computing, and middleware.
