Position Summary:

The Global Media Relations Manager provides  strategic counsel to corporate, segment and functional leaders.  You will navigate a matrixed, global organization and manage competing priorities to deliver impactful, deliverable strategies and surface compelling content that brings the business to life.  In this role you will make considered judgments on communications to media, as well as tactics, the nature of corporate positioning and the content of messages communicated to other key stakeholders (e.g. employees, customers, investors and general public). 

 

Core Functions:

  • Responding to media inquiries and requests for interviews with appropriate company spokesperson and subject matter experts—including management of any external agencies or consultancies
  • Preparation, review and approval, and distribution of press releases
  • Developing and executing media relations activities to support new product launches and other key marketing initiatives
  • Managing award submissions for new products
  • Coach and prepare Bunge’s spokespersons for media interviews; create talking points and other communications materials for use by Company spokespersons with external media as needed
  • Establish, cultivate and broaden relationships with key local, national, and trade industry media contacts to increase awareness of Bunge’s brand
  • Support the internal Corporate Communications team as needed
  • Manage/measure global public relations campaigns, timelines and budgets

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years’ experience in corporate communications at company with a global scope
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Strong organizational, project management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to effectively communicate throughout the organization in both written and verbal form.
    •Strong writing and highly detail-oriented editing skills.
    •Able to establish and ensure adherence to budgets, project schedules, timelines and activities.
    •Cross-cultural management skills, including the ability to create and execute change, demonstrated leadership, coaching and team building abilities.
    •Strong listening and analytical skills with an ability to work effectively across all levels of Bunge, including senior executives.
    •Previous experience working at an external agency or managing an external agency partner is desired.
    •Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
    •Knowledge of consumer electronics, integrated systems/conferencing or pro audio industries is helpful, but not required.
    •Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; Outlook
    •Some domestic and international travel required
    •Excellent writing, editing, project management and interpersonal communication skills.
    •Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects
